Torres finds his Soul

Carlo Ancellotti would not have thought his side would be beaten so resoundingly by a Liverpool side who were sitting in relegation zone just two weeks back. Roy Hodgson will be extremely delighted and now he could put pressure on the new owners NESV to spend money in the January transfer window. Liverpool are now 9th in the table and looking at the fixtures this month the Reds can well break into the top 6.
Fernando Torres just proved he is already back to his best. The first goal was a clinical one and while the second was just a touch of genius. The Rock solid Chelsea back line was pondered by Torres. His Body language has totally changed and he is brimming with confidence. When Torres continues to march with this form Liverpool can easily set sight on Champions league spot or may be the Championship too. But its too early to get  carried away.
It's not just Torres who was on his best, but young Lucas Leiva who has till now criticized by everyone just proved why Rafael Benitez had so much confidence on him. He took on the Chelsea midfield with confidence and battled them with ease. When Xabi Alonso left, Lucas was expected to fill his place but he was never able to. But Sunday's performance has just shown he could actually fill in Alonso's shoes.
With the manager proving he is worth managing the club, now it is up to the owners to spend money and bring in some really quality players to the squad.

Smiles back at Anfield!

Liverpool's victory against Blackburn on Sunday has brought back the winning attitude for the Reds. For the first time this season the players were so confident. In particular Torres seems to nearing his best. His body language which was criticized for weeks has now completely changed. It's only a matter of few matches for him to get back to his terrific form.Roy Hodgson will be a relieved man at least for the moment.
Joe cole showed glimpses of what he is capable of doing. The style with which Liverpool played in the second part of the second half reminded me of the 2008-09 team. When Dirk Kuyt comes back from injury, the Reds will have more strength to their attacking line. Hodgson will do good for the Reds if he continues to leave Poulsen out. Better Glen Johnson returns only after a longer Injury break. Both these guys were absolutely horrific showing no creativity and ambition when they played. Bolton will be a good test for the Reds credentials next week. Let's see if Roy Hodgson comes out with a big smile again! Let's hope so!
